AFE3010AIRGTR AFE3010 is a precision, low-power ground fault circuit interrupter (GFCI) controller used to detect ground fault leakage paths in circuits. This device is a singleIC solution that continuously monitors multiple fault conditions in the circuit to verify that the system is operating correctly.
In addition to ground fault leakage detection, AFE3010 can also detect grounded neutral conditions, which can also cause harmful shocks to connected equipment. The device implements a unique closed-loop grounded neutral detection scheme, eliminating the need for component resonance tuning, thereby optimizing system development time. The AC power line performs a periodic self-test every 180 cycles to ensure that all components related to the ground fault control system are functioning properly. If any component fails, the device will enable the LED light, and/or trip the solenoid to open the load switch. In applications where an LED indicator is not required, the alarm pin can be configured as an auxiliary SCR driver to drive an additional solenoid for redundancy.
AFE3010 integrates a shunt regulator and an LDO regulator, powered directly from the AC line through a diode bridge and passive components.
