After the improvement of the DC high voltage generator, good results have been achieved in actual use, successfully avoiding an accident where the test object was damaged due to uncontrolled output voltage, greatly improving the safety and accuracy of the test, ensuring the reliability of power equipment and extending its service life, thereby ensuring the safe and stable operation of enterprise equipment.
The operation steps of the improved DC high voltage generator are as follows:
1) First close the double-pole switch, and the green indicator light turns on;
2) Return the voltage regulator to zero, the limit switch contacts close, press the closing button, the red indicator light turns on, the electromagnetic switch closes, and the power supply of the voltage regulator is connected;
3) Insert the voltage relay, adjust the voltage setting value to the maximum, and turn the changeover switch to the off position. Adjust the voltage regulator to start boosting, adjust the voltage to the limited voltage value, release the voltage regulator knob, reduce the setting value of the voltage relay until the relay operates, so that the maximum output of the test transformer is limited to the required voltage value before production. As long as the voltage exceeds the setting value of the relay, its normally closed contact opens, cutting off the power supply of the electromagnetic switch, the switch resets, thereby disconnecting the input power of the voltage regulator, the red indicator light turns off, the green indicator light turns on, making the output zero;
4) The setting value of the protection voltage is based on different test objects. If it is set within point A, the performance of different insulating materials is different, so it is difficult to determine the specific point A in the field laboratory. Usually, we set the setting value of the voltage relay between 105% and 110% of the specified test voltage value of the test object, which ensures that the test equipment will not malfunction due to fluctuations in the power supply voltage, and also ensures that no matter what the overvoltage situation is, as long as it exceeds the setting voltage, the relay will disconnect the control voltage, achieving the purpose of reducing voltage, thereby protecting the test object and test equipment;
5) The above steps are carried out under no-load conditions of the tester. After the setting of the voltage relay is completed, turn off the power of the tester, connect the test object, and repeat steps 1) and 2). The output voltage of the voltage regulator is increased to the required level through the step-up transformer, then converted into DC through the high-voltage rectifier tube, filtered by the capacitor, and the test voltage is applied to the test object;
6) If a fault breakdown test is performed, pull out the voltage relay, turn the changeover switch to the connection position, and the test equipment returns to the state before improvement. The output voltage will no longer be controlled by the voltage relay. Only when flashover or breakdown occurs in the test object, the current in the circuit increases, causing the current relay to operate, also disconnecting the power supply of the electromagnetic switch, making the output zero, protecting the test equipment.
