Brief Introduction to the Wide Applications and Product Advantages of Cable Fault Tester
The cable fault tester has functions such as pulse reflection testing for open circuit and short circuit length, and with the signal generator, it can detect the accurate route of armored cables and the location of ground leakage faults. It is suitable for measuring the location of faults such as open circuit, short circuit, and ground leakage in low-voltage armored buried power cables, video surveillance cables, cable TV coaxial cables, and all-plastic cables. It is a powerful tool to shorten fault finding time, improve work efficiency, and reduce the labor intensity of line maintenance personnel. It is widely used in fault troubleshooting of street lamp cables, farmland irrigation cable faults, residential and landscaping cable, field power cables, highways, factories and mines, communication base stations, and other direct-buried power cables. This instrument has strong anti-interference capability and can be used for testing under high-voltage lines.
1. Two working methods of the cable fault tester:
①Low-voltage pulse method: suitable for accurate distance measurement of low-resistance, short-circuit, and open-circuit faults, and can also be used for measuring the full length of cables, intermediate joints, T-joints, and terminations, as well as for wave speed calibration.
②Pulse current method: suitable for distance measurement of high-resistance and flashover faults. It uses a current coupler and cable fault test power supply. The pulse current method can be realized only when used in combination, and it is completely isolated from them, safe and reliable. It is the first in China to achieve distance measurement of single-phase ground faults in cables.
2. High testing accuracy
The instrument adopts high-speed data sampling technology, with an A/D sampling speed of 100MHz, enabling the instrument to have a reading resolution of 1m and a detection blind zone of 1m;
3. High degree of intelligence
The test results are automatically displayed on the large-screen LCD in the form of waveforms and data, making fault judgment intuitive; it is also equipped with a full Chinese menu display operation function, without the need for special training of operators;
4. It has the function of storing and recalling waveforms and parameters;
5. It uses non-volatile devices, so waveforms and data are not easily lost after shutdown;
6. It has dual-trace display function;
7. It can compare the test waveform of the faulty cable with the normal waveform, which is conducive to further judgment of the fault;
8. It has waveform expansion ratio function;
9. By changing the waveform ratio, the waveform can be expanded for accurate testing;
10. It can arbitrarily change the positions of the dual cursors to directly display the direct distance or relative distance between the fault point and the test point;
11. It has the function of modifying the propagation speed at any time according to the different cables under test;
12. It has a small portable shape, with built-in rechargeable battery power supply, convenient for carrying and use;
