Nowadays, intelligent robots and artificial intelligence are no longer just at the stage of imagination, but are becoming a new trend in industry, setting off a new wave of technological innovation. Against this backdrop, recently, the China Artificial Intelligence Society, Cheers Publishing, and Haiyin Capital jointly organized a reading salon themed "Dancing with Robots: The Big Future of the AI Era", bringing together industry professionals and experts in the field of artificial intelligence to discuss the value of the book "Dancing with Robots", share the current development status of robots and artificial intelligence, and discuss the ethical issues of AI.
"In the field of artificial intelligence, there is still a gap between China and the world's most advanced level. Therefore, we hope to introduce some of the most advanced foreign ideas to popularize them." Chen Xiaohui, founder and president of Cheers Publishing, introduced that three years ago, he had already planned a book series on robots and artificial intelligence. To make it more professional, he also specially joined forces with the China Artificial Intelligence Society to establish an expert committee, with Li Deyi, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, serving as the chairman of the committee, gathering a group of AI experts to review the series.
"The most valuable aspect of the book 'Dancing with Robots' lies in its comprehensive content." Huang Xiaoqing, founder of CloudMinds, commented, "This may be the most comprehensive book I have read on the history of technology, especially on artificial intelligence." In Huang Xiaoqing's view, the next industrial revolution may be the robot revolution. "I think China has the opportunity to participate in the fourth industrial revolution, of course, this depends on the completion of our institutional and mechanism reforms."
Many scenarios of artificial intelligence and intelligence augmentation are intertwined, in a process of mutual complementarity and continuous development. "Consumer expectations for AI are very high, but in reality, in terms of industry and academia's capabilities and productization, AI is far from reaching such heights. Current trends indicate that to achieve this goal, the future requires the integration of artificial intelligence, robotics, and the Internet. Today, everyone is talking about 'Internet+', and we believe that in the future, more people will see 'AI+'."
Yu Naigong, deputy director of the Institute of Artificial Intelligence and Robotics at the School of Electronic Information and Control Engineering, Beijing University of Technology, agreed with this, stating: "In the future, concepts such as the Internet of Things, big data, robots, and the cloud need to be integrated. The Internet supports robots, and AI also supports robots; they need to be developed together."
Regarding the ethical issues of artificial intelligence, Wang Yuquan, co-founder of Haiyin Capital, stated: "Robots cannot replace human jobs; instead, humans can turn around and cooperate with robots to accomplish more creative work."
The Future Integration of Artificial Intelligence, Robotics, and the Internet
In the view of Zhang Jiang, associate professor at the School of Systems Science at Beijing Normal University and founder of Swarma Club, how humans and machines will integrate is a question worth pondering. "Artificial intelligence is not just developing as an independent entity; it needs to interface with humans. There is still a long way to go in terms of how humans can transmit consciousness to machines."
