Understanding the Structure of an Insulation Resistance Tester, Also Master Its Maintenance and Care

The insulation resistance tester, commonly known as a megohmmeter, or also called a megger, high resistance meter, insulation resistance tester, etc. The insulation resistance meter is a testing instrument widely used in power grids and for measuring the insulation resistance of electrical equipment. It is of great significance for ensuring product quality and the safety of personnel and equipment during operation. When we measure the insulation resistance of a product, it refers to the insulation resistance between the live parts and the exposed non-live metal parts (the shell). According to different products, a DC high voltage is applied, such as 100V, 250V, 500V, 1000V, etc., and a low insulation resistance value is specified. Some standards stipulate that for each kV of voltage, the insulation resistance should not be less than 1MΩ, etc.

Insulation Oil Dielectric Strength Tester

The structure and composition of the insulation resistance tester:

The insulation resistance meter mainly consists of three parts.

The first is the DC high voltage generator, which is used to generate a DC high voltage.

    The second is the display.

The third is the measurement circuit.

    Maintenance and care:

    1. After testing, clean the oil cup with oil, wipe the electrode surface with soft chamois or silk cloth to keep it smooth, and fill it with clean and dry oil to protect the oil cup.

    2. Use or store this instrument in a dry, ventilated, and safe place.

    3. This product is covered by the three guarantees. Under normal use and storage conditions, this instrument has a one-year warranty.

    4. During the warranty period, if the instrument fails to operate normally due to quality issues, our factory is responsible for free repair.

    5. During the warranty period, if the instrument is damaged due to improper operation or maintenance, our factory can provide parts and repair services at a preferential price.

    6. If users encounter any abnormal operation of the instrument or need technical consultation, please contact the manufacturer in time.
