The Third Session of the Fifth Council of China Electrical Equipment Industry Association Convened in Xianyang
On April 14, the Third Session of the Fifth Council of China Electrical Equipment Industry Association was held in Xianyang. The meeting was hosted by China Electrical Equipment Industry Association and co-organized by Xianyang Municipal Government and Qindu District Government. Representatives from over 200 electrical enterprises and various branches of the association gathered together to listen to authoritative industry information and plan for future development.
At the meeting, Lu Yansun, former Vice Minister of the Ministry of Machinery Industry, Li Ye, Director of the Regulatory Supervision Department of the National Energy Administration, and Wang Ruihua, Deputy Director of the Equipment Industry Department of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, delivered speeches respectively. Yue Liang, Secretary of the Xianyang Municipal Party Committee, and Nan Cunhui, President of China Electrical Equipment Industry Association and Chairman of Chint Group Co., Ltd., delivered addresses. Liu Changsheng, Executive Vice President of China Electrical Equipment Industry Association, reported on the work of the council in 2016, and Guo Zhenyan, Vice President and Secretary-General, presided over the meeting. In his speech, Lu Yansun analyzed the current situation and challenges facing China's electrical equipment industry and put forward corresponding suggestions.
He believed that although there are many shortcomings in the development of China's electrical industry, great progress has also been made, and industry workers should not underestimate themselves. The future development of the electrical industry hinges on innovation-led growth, strengthening the entire industrial chain, and promoting the restructuring of large enterprises in the industry. He emphasized that although supply-side structural adjustment is the current central government's key task, industry characteristics determine that under the context of large power grid power supply, guiding user demand in the electrical industry is even more indispensable. Making good use of the platform of China Electrical Equipment Industry Association, uniting various branches, and rebuilding the function of industry associations to concentrate efforts on major tasks are urgent priorities to promote the industry's renewed brilliance.
Li Ye pointed out that China's electrical equipment industry currently faces three major challenges: market, technology, and relatively unchanged enterprise forms. Leading enterprises, industry associations, and corresponding research institutes should actively adapt to development trends, lead the industry onto a new path of sustainable development, and focus on achieving key breakthroughs in system integration capabilities. He hoped that government departments would provide good services to boost the transformation and development of the electrical industry.
Wang Ruihua affirmed the contributions made by the electrical equipment industry association in serving the government, the industry, and enterprises, as well as its major supporting role in the development of the power equipment industry. Especially during the formulation of "Made in China 2025," China Electrical Equipment Industry Association proposed power equipment as one of the ten key areas and a field for breakthrough, which secured policy support and development opportunities for the sector and the industry. She also emphasized the important driving role of the power equipment manufacturing field in industry development, introduced the overall economic operation of the equipment industry, the policy deployment of "Made in China 2025," and the future support directions of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. Wang Ruihua pointed out that in the face of shortcomings such as the absence of high-end products and reliance on imports for core components, the overall approach for the equipment industry going forward is high-end development, innovation-driven growth, strengthening the foundation, and intelligent transformation. She hoped that enterprises would strengthen ties with government departments and various ministries to further promote the development of basic manufacturing and green manufacturing in China. She also hoped that the electrical equipment industry association would continue to serve as a bridge and support, acting as a consultant to the government and a helper to enterprises while strengthening its own construction.
In the "Work Report of the Third Session of the Fifth Council of China Electrical Equipment Industry Association," Liu Changsheng pointed out that according to the overall thinking for the development of the electrical industry in the coming period and in light of the new situation, the overall requirements for industry work in 2017 are: fully implement the spirit of the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China and the Third, Fourth, Fifth, and Sixth Plenary Sessions of the 18th Central Committee, guided by Deng Xiaoping Theory, the important thought of "Three Represents," and the Scientific Outlook on Development, deeply implement the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping's important speeches, seriously implement the spirit of the Central Economic Work Conference and the national industry and information technology, energy, and standardization work conferences, follow the overall requirements of the Fourth Session of the Fourth Council of China Machinery Industry Federation, take the development of digital, networked, and intelligent manufacturing as the main line, take the development of resource-conserving, environment-friendly green manufacturing as an important direction, take the lead in achieving breakthroughs in major products and major manufacturing technologies in key areas, use high-tech to enhance the level of traditional electrical equipment manufacturing, develop strategic emerging industries and advanced manufacturing, promote the industry to embark on an innovation-driven track as soon as possible, and comprehensively promote industry transformation and upgrading.
