Silicon carbide far-infrared electric heater is a radiation-typeheater. After power-on, it forms a strong broad-spectrum directional radiation in the vertical space, effectively converting electrical energy into far-infrared radiation energy, which is directly transmitted to the object to be dried, rapidly converting into molecular thermal motion, drying from the inside out, achieving the purpose of rapid drying and setting, and obtaining significant energy-saving effects. The silicon carbide far-infrared electric heating plate uses a silicon carbide plate coated with metal oxide (far-infrared coating) as the radiation element. Heating wires are installed in the holes (or grooves) of the element, and a thick layer of insulating, refractory, and heat-insulating material is placed at the bottom of the element. Then a metal shell is installed, and terminals are connected for power-on use. Silicon carbide has a room temperature flexural strength of 45 MPa, a high-temperature flexural strength of 50 MPa at 1000°C, a bulk density of 2.7-2.75 g/cm³, a thermal expansion rate of 0.42-0.48% at 900°C, and a thermal conductivity (at 350°C) of 10.3-16.7 W/m·K.
When far-infrared radiation strikes an object, it can be absorbed, reflected, or transmitted. The heated and dried material absorbs far-infrared radiation energy at a certain depth internally and on the surface molecules simultaneously, generating a self-heating effect, causing the solvent or water molecules to evaporate, with uniform heating, thereby avoiding deformation and quality changes caused by different thermal expansion degrees, and maintaining the appearance, physical and mechanical properties, fastness, and color of the material. It is widely used in industries such as automotive, textile, printing and dyeing, dye, papermaking, bicycle, refrigerator, washing machine, chemical fiber, ceramics, electrostatic spraying, grain, food, pharmaceutical, chemical, tobacco, etc., achieving ultra-fast drying purposes. It has the advantages of good radiation effect, significant power saving, and easy use and maintenance, especially suitable for large drying rooms, ovens, and continuous drying tunnels.
