Heater Precautions
The heater is the most commonly used aquarium hardware for heating the water in the fish tank. Heaters can be divided into two types based on their principles and structure: one is electronic, using a thermistor to detect and control temperature, and the other is a bimetallic strip mechanical thermostat heater. Generally, it should be replaced every two years.
Usage Precautions:
① Do not power on the heater in the air. Because it heats up extremely quickly in the air, it may burn out the heater at best, or shatter the glass or burn your hand at worst. Even after powering off, do not immediately remove it from the water, as the temperature is still very high and can easily cause burns or damage the heater.
② It is recommended to replace bimetallic strip heaters every one to two years, as the internal bimetallic strip can become faulty over time, preventing unnecessary losses. The replaced heater can be kept as a spare and used for heating during water changes.
