Standard Compilation Meeting for "Technical Specification for Energy-Saving Water Turbines in Cooling Towers" Organized by Tianjin Electric Research Institute Held in Tianjin
The national standard compilation meeting for "Technical Specification for Energy-Saving Water Turbines in Cooling Towers" organized by Tianjin Electric Research Institute Co., Ltd. (Tianjin Electric Research Institute) was held in Tianjin on May 26-27, 2015. Thirty-four representatives from 20 units including manufacturing enterprises, energy-saving companies, user units, design institutes, and universities attended the meeting. The meeting was chaired by Li Feng, deputy director of the Energy Industry Standardization Technical Committee (hereinafter referred to as the Industry Standards Committee), and Xu Yuanfeng, director of the Standard Management Office of the Standardization and Technical Evaluation Center of China Electrical Equipment Industry Association, attended the meeting for guidance and delivered a speech.
Director Xu introduced the relevant policies for national standard management and analyzed the key contents of the reform plan for national standards. She pointed out that currently only products in certain key fields can be listed as national standards, and the approval of this standard aligns with the national strategy for energy conservation and consumption reduction. She required the drafting working group to cherish and seize the opportunity, closely rely on the Industry Standards Committee, and complete the standard drafting work on time and with quality.
The meeting discussed and approved the working regulations for standard compilation, clarifying the principles and participation methods for standard drafting. The secretariat of the Industry Standards Committee also explained the standard formulation procedures, giving some representatives who participated in standard drafting for the first time a more comprehensive understanding of the standard formulation process.
This standard was proposed and led by Tianjin Electric Research Institute. Song Guiling, secretary-general of the Industry Standards Committee, explained the outline and some contents on behalf of Tianjin Electric Research Institute, and had a lively discussion with the participating representatives. The representatives fully affirmed the framework of the standard and actively expressed their opinions on the scope and certain technical clauses of the standard.
The representatives also analyzed and discussed the current situation and future development direction of the industry, unanimously believing that replacing motors with water turbines is a good way to save energy and reduce consumption in cooling towers, with very broad market prospects. However, currently, the market products have various types, chaotic prices, and many problems in technical indicators and product quality. The formulation of this standard will definitely play a normative role in product technology, quality, and market order, and is very necessary for the development of the entire industry.
Since this standard is the first product standard in this field, further in-depth research work is needed in the future drafting process of the standard at various stages to make the standard technologically advanced, economically reasonable, and safe, and to strive for early publication to serve the industry. The participating units expressed that they will actively contribute to the standard compilation in the future, and also hoped that the Industry Standards Committee and research institutes will play a leading role in the industry, guiding enterprises to develop advanced technologies, eliminate outdated products, promote the healthy development of the industry, and make important contributions to China's energy conservation and emission reduction cause.
