The material is a composite conductive polymer, formed by adding conductive fillers (such as carbon black, graphite, carbon fiber, metal powder, etc.) to a general-purpose polymer matrix. The basic temperature-controlled heat tracing cable consists of a PTC core strip and an insulation layer. When current flows through the parallel PTC material layer, Joule heat is generated, causing the core strip to heat up and increase in temperature. At the same time, the heat from the core strip is transferred through the cable insulation layer to the lower-temperature heated system, compensating for the heat lost by the system to the environment. When the electrical power of the cable equals the heat loss of the system, the system temperature can be maintained stable, and the cable and system reach a stable working state of heat tracing and insulation (i.e., steady state). This long-strip cable is an excellent heat tracing and insulation device.
